Surprise: GFWL Breaks Broken Steel for PC Gamers

Share |

What do you know? We missed the initial release announcement of the latest "Fallout 3" DLC "Broken Steel" yesterday but that’s probably a good thing considering it’s broken due to Games for Windows Live issues. The add-on has since been pulled from the Live marketplace but if you downloaded a corrupted copy, there are some reports that the instructions detailed in this thread on the Bethesda forums can work. The specific error looks like this:

"Install of Broken Steel failed. Not a cryptographic message or the cryptographic message is not formatted correctly. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8009200D)."

Shacknews has word from Bethesda that it’s all GFWL’s fault. Will this shiny new debut trailer help? I didn’t think so.
