If you liked Planetside, you should start paying attention to this game. Global Agenda is a subscription-based action MMO with persistent territories, as you join a faction and fight on for what you believe should be yours.
It’s an awfully familiar tune and so yeah, if Planetside was something that tickled your fancy, then Global Agenda is something you definitely need to keep track of. There is some sort of story involved, something about a Big Brother government called the Commonwealth ruling over Earth and a war over available masses of recycled land, but the developer I talked to quickly went on about that at the end of day, it’s a game where people can shoot other people online for territorial expansion.
As much as it was a shooter, there was a lot of RPG stat-tracking going on. The chance critical, four classes, buffs, levels, lots of loot – there’s still some dice rolls going on and a heavy amount of math going on in the background and the foreground, as you’ll see how much damage you’re doling out with each bullet.
Global Agenda will go into beta very soon and with Huxley already entering beta, it looks like there will be some choice competition in the MMOFPS field.
