Valve and The National today revealed the winners of the Portal 2 music video contest, in which two videos tied for first place. The top 1st place winning video actually had nothing to do with Portal, which seems somewhat strange. The 1.00000000001th Place video is very Portal related.

"We were stuck between two very different videos. One was a terrific retelling of the Ratman story. The other had nothing to do with Portal, Valve, The National, being exiled OR being vilified, but managed to beautifully capture the spirit of the song by starring the world's saddest sock puppet. Unfortunately, according to our own stupid contest rules and the number of guitars we have for prizes (one), only one video could win.

 After a few more weeks of fruitless debate, we realized there was a group who could help us crack this seemingly intractable stalemate: The United Nations. When that didn't pan out, we turned to another group: The guys who'd made the song, The National. They managed to pick a slim favorite, but weren't comfortable leaving the #2 video in the dust. So after a few more days of hard words and hurt feelings, we finally decided to award a first place winner followed by a mathematically imperceptibly close 1.00000000001th place winner. Both will receive the same great prize package, the only difference being that place #1 will include a guitar and place #1.00000000001 will feature an Aperture Science messenger bag signed by the Portal 2 Team."

TripWire Interactive today announced that the release date for Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad has been pushed back two weeks to September 13th.

Bethesda Softworks today announced that a collector's edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be released and released details on what the package will include.

Paradox Interactive today released a new gameplay trailer for King Arthur: Fallen Champions, the upcoming stand-alone bridge between King Arthur and the upcoming King Arthur II, which is scheduled to be released on August 25th.

"King Arthur: Fallen Champions tells the tale of three brave souls. A knight, an enchantress, and a prophet – these three will become champions of a forgotten battle that began long, long ago.
Sir Lionel, a noble knight who ventures out to the aid of a damsel in distress; Lady Corrigan of the Sidhe, a twilight creature trying to find her way home; and Drest the Chosen, a Northern shaman driven onward by visions and voices. The three will ultimately join forces as champions against an ancient and long-forgotten evil."

Electronic Arts today announced FIFA Manager 12, the next installment in the sports management series in development at Bright Future.

"The 11th edition of the football management simulation will include features inspired and determined by the community, in addition to a full feature set and game modes with more than 700 improvements, when the game launches this autumn.

Through the online “Your Feature!” campaign, thousands of fans participated in a community call-to-action to directly influence the game’s content for this season. Fans proposed features they wanted in the game, and then community voting determined the ones that mattered most. Features created by the community include, “Speeches Before The Match”, “European Cup Final Match”, “Open Trials for New Players”, new tutorial “Manager Challenges,” and an extension of the last 24 hours of the transfer market.

FIFA Manager 12 features improvements to virtually all areas of the game, including major enhancements to the 3D mode, finances, transfers and the calendar. Changes to the 3D mode create a more realistic experience, and include new logic, new player artificial intelligence, and marked improvements to tactics, substitutions and the conduct of opposing managers. In addition, a new intuitive user interface makes it possible for players to retrieve all the data relevant to the game within seconds and to issue precise tactical instructions to their teams.

The financial mode is now more authentic with on-the-pitch success impacting revenue, and realistic differences in revenue generated through jersey sponsors between clubs. In the transfer section, managers can now field players in trial training and in real matches. Managers can also commission a detailed analysis of the squad so the team's weak points can be specifically eliminated.  A whole range of new options will be available in the calendar, from the charity gala to direct friendly match queries, and training can once again be planned and implemented on a daily basis.

FIFA Manager 12 also contains a host of improvements to the online mode, all premium features from previous years are now included and available to all players. Online improvements include an extensive avatar editor, the option of creating fantasy leagues, and a large number of new statistics."

Square Enix today announced details for an auction of limited prints of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In addition, a new "Classified Information" trailer was released.

"A total of 20 numbered and signed prints will be made available for each of the nine works unveiled at New York’s Wooster Street Social Club. The exhibition will run until August 7th, while the prints will be sold via auction site CharityBuzz, with the proceeds going to funding further education in the arts.
 
Artists contributing to the lineup include highly respected names within the contemporary art, visual, graffiti, and photography space including N8 Van Dyke, Estevan Oriol, Rob Abeyta Jr, Rico DeNiro, Eyeone, Patrick Martinez, 3rassiere, Jorge Alderete, Jeremy Fish and Sam Flores. The works they have created are inspired by the world of DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION, Square Enix’s upcoming game which deals with a future where transhumanism – artificial augmentation of the body – has become commonplace.
 
“The works are both a credit to the artists as well as to the vision behind the game,” said Square Enix America vice president Ami Blaire. “It’s been great for us to share these bold and artistic interpretations with the public and collectors, as well as have a chance to give back to education in art and interactive entertainment.”

2K Games and Gearbox today announced Borderlands 2, a new sequel that is currently scheduled to be released in April 2012.

Kalypso Media today announced Port Royale 3, a new installment in the series started by Ascaron Entertainment. The new sequel is scheduled to be released in Q2 of 2012 and is in development at Kalypso's internal studio Gaming Minds Studios. A playable version of the game will be featured at this year's Gamescom.

"In Port Royale 3, players will embark upon an epic adventure through the Caribbean during the turbulent 17th century where the naval powers of Spain, England, France and the Netherlands all fight for supremacy in the colonies. Players take on the role of a young captain trying to build his fortune and reputation in the new world colonies. The campaign consists of two different paths for the young protagonist to follow: adventurer and trader.
